Free lobby concert with music and poetry from Afghanistan.

In Voices of Freedom, music and poetry from Afghanistan come together in an intimate lobby concert where art becomes expression. Through song and poetry, experiences of identity, resistance, and hope are shared—from a society where the freedom of expression is severely limited.

On stage, you will meet Stavanger's new city of refuge writer and poet Tahmasbi Khorasani, poet Mozghan Faramanesh, singer Ghawgha, oud player Khaled Habeeb, and Nils Henrik Asheim on piano and harmonium, together with musicians from the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra. Actor Øystein Martinsen will read Norwegian translations.

The concert is part of the theme week Understanding Afghanistan (March 2–8), where Sølvberget turns the spotlight on Afghanistan—the home country of Stavanger's city of refuge writer Tahmasbi Khorasani.
